The firm assists new associates in their professional development by encouraging participation in the activities of bar associations, professional groups, and education seminars. Additionally, Jones Walker conducts comprehensive in-house training and development programs for associates throughout the year.

Our associate training program is designed to provide associates with structured, practical training at both the firm and the practice group levels. At least one partner in each practice group is dedicated to serve as its associate training coordinator. More than 50 firmwide and practice-specific training courses are offered at regular intervals throughout the year. Associates are furnished with resource guides and developmental and CLE benchmarks to help guide their professional development.

Jones Walker is committed to a culture of professional growth and learning, and dedicates significant financial and attorney resources to provide associates with the best opportunities to achieve success. The Associate Development Committee oversees the development and implementation of associate training at the firm and practice group levels, with the assistance of training coordinators, and notifies all attorneys of the schedule, agenda, and components of the program prior to the beginning of each training year, which runs from January to December.
