ABA's 19th Annual Gaming Law Minefield Conference
February 12, 2015
Las Vegas, Nevada

Press Release

Las Vegas, NV – Jones Walker gaming practice partners and team leaders J. Kelly Duncan, Thomas B. Shepherd, III and Marc W. Dunbar joined one of the country's largest contingents of gaming law attorneys, compliance officers, Native American leaders, regulators and legislators in Las Vegas this week for the American Bar Association's 19th annual Gaming Law Minefield Conference.

This year, the Bar's CLE National Institute focused on revolutionary legal, regulatory, and ethical issues confronting both commercial and Native American gaming. Gaming law attorneys, compliance officers, Native American leaders, regulators and legislators will convene for two days to share valuable insights about the ever-changing field of gaming.

Jones Walker's gaming practice team leader, Mr. Shepherd, was on the panel discussion, "U.S. Casino Growth: The Legal Complexities of Growth vs. Competition," while Mr. Duncan moderated a discussion on "Mergers and Transfers of Interest: What Considerations are Relevant in Approving Consolidations."

Mr. Dunbar joined a panel discussion on "The Morphing of Social Gaming, Fantasy Sports and Sweepstakes into Gaming," which explored social gaming, fantasy sports, and sweepstakes operators pushing the envelope on legal activity.

"This conference always provides a very unique opportunity to hear from a wide variety of individuals who everyday have an impact on the state of gaming operations throughout the country," Mr. Dunbar said.
