Karene L. Tygenhof Joins Jones Walker's Miami Litigation Practice

MIAMI—Jones Walker is pleased to announce that Karene L. Tygenhof has joined the firm as a special counsel in the Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group. She will practice from the firm's Miami office, joining a team of litigators focused on serving the banking, financial services, and health care industries.

Ms. Tygenhof's practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, representing clients in areas ranging from consumer finance litigation to business tort and contract disputes. She has particular experience representing financial institutions in banking, consumer finance, and creditors' rights disputes, and practices in state and federal courts. She also has prior litigation experience relating to international law, as well as media, First Amendment, and public interest law.

Partner R. Patrick Vance, who leads the firm's Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group, said, "Karene is an excellent addition to our litigation team in the Miami office. Her background in representing financial institutions provides additional depth and strength to our practice, and we will immediately benefit from her experience and knowledge."

Ms. Tygenhof is a 2004 graduate of the University of Miami School of Law, where she received her juris doctor degree, magna cum laude, was an Editorial Board Member of the University of Miami Law Review, and a member of the Environmental Law Society. She was also the recipient of the Dean's Honor Award in Contract Law and the Professor Richard A. Hausler Contracts Scholarship. Ms. Tygenhof is a 1996 graduate of Florida Atlantic University, where she concentrated on political communication and received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication, cum laude.
