Casey Quoted in Law360 Article
April 7, 2014

CaseySteven F. Casey, a partner in the firm's Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group in the Birmingham office, was quoted in an article published by Law360 on March 28, 2014. The article titled, "Malaysia Flight's Unknown Fate Blocks Claims Against Boeing," stated that the uncertainty over what caused the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 has prevented family members of the missing passengers from "advancing a credible theory of liability" against Boeing Co., the manufacturer of the plane, since there is no concrete evidence that the plane's design is to blame for the disaster. "[A] product liability claim is just that—a claim that the product in question was defective in some way," said Casey. "Unless [the family members] can try to point to the wreckage, it's virtually impossible for them to make any claim against Boeing." The full article may be found on Law360.com.
