Press Release

TALLAHASSEE, January 12, 2015 —Jones Walker LLP announced today the expansion of its Government Relations Practice Group in Florida with the addition of Christopher Moya as Director of Government Relations and Emily Duda Buckley as Government Relations Manager, to the firm's State, National and International Government Relations teams. In addition, Jones Walker welcomes the return of Daniel Russell as special counsel in the gaming and litigation practice groups in Tallahassee.

Mr. Moya joins another recent addition to Jones Walker, Daniel Restrepo, who served as Special Assistant to President Obama and Senior Director for Western Hemisphere Affairs at the National Security Council from March 2009 to July 2012.

The addition of Mr. Moya and Mr. Restrepo represent the firm's ongoing and increasing focus on issues of national and international scope within the Western Hemisphere with a particular emphasis on the relationship between Gulf South states and their trading partners in the Caribbean, Central and South America. Mr. Moya will direct Jones Walker's Government Relations Practice in Florida and will compliment the firm's offices in Miami and Washington D.C., with a focus on expanding the firm's hemispheric practice.

"Chris is a strong and valuable addition to our team," said William H. Hines, managing partner of Jones Walker. "His leadership and experience in navigating local, state, and national public affairs issues will be invaluable to our clients operating in today's global marketplace."

A native of Miami, Mr. Moya has served at all levels of legislative, executive and local government branches including stints with the Mayor of Miami-Dade County, the Florida Legislature and the Florida Division of Elections. As a public affairs consultant in the private sector since 1999, Mr. Moya has represented some of the world's best-known corporations, and state and national trade associations including some of the largest public and private employers in Florida.

Ms. Duda Buckley began her political career in the Florida House of Representatives working with all the appropriations committee chairs, and has worked for the Executive Office of the Governor, Southern Strategy Group, and The James Madison Institute. Ms. Duda Buckley also sits on the Family Council of A. Duda & Sons.

After a stint as General Counsel to the Florida Lottery, Mr. Russell rejoins the firm's gaming practice group, which serves clients throughout the Gulf South from Texas to Florida.

"Dan's return to the firm is critical to our continued service to the needs of our deep client base in the ever evolving gaming industry," said Hines.
