Jennifer Ungru Joins Tallahassee Office
Jones Walker LLP Expands Government Affairs and Healthcare Practice Groups

Jones Walker LLP announced today that Jennifer Ungru has joined the Tallahassee office as a Corporate Affairs Advisor.

“We are pleased to have Jennifer join our Florida team,” said Marc Dunbar, Head of the firm’s Tallahassee office. "Her knowledge and experience of Medicaid programs and healthcare issues will be a very valuable asset to healthcare clients in the Southeast and throughout the country."

Ms. Ungru has served in both the Legislative and Executive branches of Florida state government and has a decade of political experience. Prior to joining Jones Walker, she served as the chief of staff for the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA), which oversees the state's Medicaid program and regulates more than 45,000 healthcare facilities.

Prior to joining AHCA, Ms. Ungru was appointed as deputy chief of staff for Governor Rick Scott overseeing nine agencies. She also served in the Florida House Majority Office. She has extensive on the ground political experience in 13 states and with the Republican National Committee.

Ms. Ungru joins a growing Jones Walker team in Tallahassee, which includes some of Florida’s and the nation’s leading government affairs consultants including attorneys Mr. Dunbar and Dan Russell with Jones Walker’s gaming practice group and Chris Moya and Emily Buckley with the firm’s Government Relations team.

Jones Walker’s healthcare team represents clients nationwide and is made up of industry veterans who understand today’s marketplace and regulatory environment. The team includes professionals who have served as in-house counsel and senior legal officers for leading national and regional healthcare systems, and in key positions in relevant government agencies. The healthcare team is made up of attorneys who hold leadership positions in the American Bar Association Health Law Section, the American Health Lawyers Association, state bar associations, and industry groups.
