October 26, 2015

Press Release

ORLANDO, FL (October 22, 2015) – Jones Walker LLP, one of Florida's most prominent law firms, will be the presenting sponsor of the 2016 Florida Gaming Congress, which takes place January 6-7 at the beautiful Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando.

Jones Walker's gaming practice, the largest in the southeastern United States, provides full-spectrum legal counsel to clients on gaming law. The firm represents all participants in the industry, including casinos, Indian tribes, product manufacturers and suppliers, pari-mutuels, lottery vendors, as well as sweepstakes, charitable, online and social gaming. It also represents other parties — such as investors, lenders and vendors — that have gaming-related interests throughout the Gulf South.

"We are pleased to participate again in the Florida Gaming Congress which has become an important annual gathering of the industry and policy makers to discuss the current and future trends impacting the state's multi-billion dollar gaming industry," said Marc Dunbar, Partner in Jones Walker's Tallahassee office who specializes in gaming law.

"The Florida Gaming Congress has long served as an effective forum to discuss and learn about the future of gaming policy in this important state,” said Michael Pollock, Managing Director of Spectrum Gaming Group, which organizes and produces the Florida Gaming Congress. “Jones Walker's participation will help ensure that we maintain that position, and they share that core principle."

The Florida Gaming Congress, the premier forum for professionals following the state's evolving gaming industry, is a must-attend event for corporate executives, gaming operators, elected officials, regulators, vendors, developers, investors, analysts, and anyone else who seeks a greater understanding of the status and outlook of all gaming-related activity in the state. The Florida Gaming Congress provides outstanding opportunities for networking, professional development and business-to-business discussions.

The two-day event begins with an evening cocktail reception on January 6, followed by a full-day of in-depth seminars with networking opportunities. Session topics include:

  • Florida Lottery: A look to the future

This year, the Florida Gaming Congress will be immediately followed by the National Council of Legislators from Gaming States (NCLGS) Winter Meeting, January 8-10, also at the Rosen Shingle Creek. NCLGS is a non-partisan, multi-state forum where gaming industry professionals and legislators can put forth ideas and garner national recognition for current and future gaming policy issues. Florida Gaming Congress attendees who also register for NCLGS will receive a $100 discount off their NCLGS registration fee.
