April Rogers Joins Jones Walker LLP

NEW ORLEANS, March 2, 2017—Jones Walker LLP announced today that April S. Rogers has joined the firm's Birmingham office as special counsel on the Healthcare Practice Team in the Business & Commercial Transactions Practice Group.

Ms. Rogers focuses her practice on healthcare organization and policy, public health programs, HIPAA, HITECH, and health insurance. Previously, she has served as a graduate teaching assistant at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, School of Public Health,  for Public Health Law and Health Insurance/Managed Care courses.

Ms. Rogers recently also served as a project assistant in the Washington, D.C., office of an international law firm where she evaluated faith-based Community Health Networks to identify aspects of successful models and analyzed published research concerning network results. She began her legal career in private practice where she handled matters in various areas including class action and multidistrict litigation, financial services litigation, business and fiduciary torts, environmental and toxic torts, insurance defense claims, and pharmaceuticals litigation.

Ms. Rogers received her juris doctor degree from Vanderbilt University Law School in 2001 and received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, summa cum laude with honors, from Auburn University in 1997. In addition to her juris doctor degree, Ms. Rogers also earned a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2015.
