Ourso Appointed to ABA Task Force on the Federal Trademark Dilution Act

Baton Rouge litigation and intellectual property partner Justin Ourso has been appointed to a special task force of the Section of Intellectual Property Law of the American Bar Association addressing pending legislation in Congress to amend the Federal Trademark Dilution Act, which is a portion of the Lanham Act, the federal trademark statute.  The task force will advise the section leadership on negotiations with the International Trademark Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, and the staff of the House Subcommittee on the Courts, the Internet, and Intellectual Property on proposed amendments arising from the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Moseley v. V Secret Catalogue, Inc., and other judicial decisions interpreting the FTDA and will prepare proposed legislation on behalf of the ABA.
