Hunter Receives Mention in GNO, Inc.'s December 3 News Release on Governor's LNG Consortium to Buy Chemical Plants
December 7, 2004

On December 3, general business and energy special counsel David Hunter received mention in Greater New Orleans Inc.'s news release, "GNO, Inc. Works with Governor's LNG Consortium to Create Buying Pool for Louisiana Chemical Plants."  GNO, Inc. is partnering with public and private entities on the creation of a purchasing pool by which participating Louisiana chemical plants might purchase gas from LNG facilities planned in the state at lower costs, in an effort to prevent further off-shoring of jobs and plants. The article said in part, "High natural gas costs have been a large factor in the loss of 4,000 petrochemical jobs in Louisiana since 1998. GNO, Inc.'s Petrochemical Committee Chair Jas Gill and Karl Scheuermann, Director of Oil, Gas and Petrochemical for GNO, Inc. have been working with Governor Blanco's energy adviser, LSU, Louisiana Department of Economic Development (LED), Dan Borne, President of the Louisiana Chemical Association (LCA) and David Hunter of Jones Walker to draft startup agreements. Those documents are circulating among 12 interested chemical corporations at this time. GNO, Inc. expects that number to grow as we develop the concept further." Jones Walker partners Mark Cunningham and Scott Zander are also working on this project.
