Charles Landry, has been re-elected as chairperson of the Council for a Better Louisiana for 2004. Mr. Landry served as chair in 2003 and has been a member of CABL's executive committee and board of directors since 1992. Since its founding in 1962, CABL has continued to be a force for positive change by remaining focused on its goal of making Louisiana better. CABL's notable achievements in efforts to improve education in Louisiana are creation and support of privately endowed local education funds which now total several million dollars and support of the Louisiana Principal Internship program which provides leadership training for school principals. CABL recognizes that education is critical to Louisiana's future. CABL works to raise standards, while making public schools and universities more accountable and responsive to the needs of citizens and employers.
