Lewis McHenry quoted on Fairmont deal in The Times Picayune
August 28, 2007

Jones Walker attorney Lewis McHenry was quoted in The Times-Picayune article titled “Fairmont will become a Waldorf-Astoria Hotel,” published August 26, 2007. The article addresses the recent sale of The Fairmont New Orleans to a development group planning to convert the property into a Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. McHenry represented New Orleans Roosevelt Ventures LP, the group that owned the hotel, in the $17-million sale of the property to Dimension Development Company Inc., and is quoted as saying that "this is about the best thing that's happened in real estate and even business-wise this year."  Dimension's plans to reopen the hotel as a Waldorf-Astoria have yet to approximate an opening date, as their estimated cost of refurbishing the storm-blown hotel is $100 million. Due to extensive water damage, The Fairmont New Orleans had not reopened since Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
