Jones Walker Attorneys Complete Contract for Project in Lima, Peru
April 3, 2008

Stephen T. Miller, Jennifer D. Hamer, and Doug Whiting, working out of the firm's Woodlands office, assisted Peruvian private electric generator Edegel, S.A.A., a subsidiary of Endesa of Spain, in the signing of an Engineering, Procurement and Construction Contract with Siemens Power Generation for the expansion of Edegel's Santa Rosa thermoelectric plant near Lima, Peru. Jones Walker assisted Edegel in negotiating an agreement to install a new 188MW gas generation unit at Edegel's Santa Rosa plant, which nearly doubles the plant's current capacity of 229MW. Edegel is the largest electric generator in Peru, and operates seven (7) hydroelectric plants with combined effective capacity of 755MW and two (2) thermoelectric plants with 714MW combined effective capacity.
