NEW ORLEANS—The firm is pleased to announce that Sanford B. Kaynor Jr. has joined the firm as special counsel in the Corporate & Securities Practice Group. He will practice from the firm’s New Orleans office.

William H. Hines, firm managing partner, lauded Kaynor, “Jones Walker has long held a strong reputation in the area of corporate and securities law. Sandy is an incredibly talented lawyer and we are thrilled he has joined the firm. He will bring more depth and capacity to our private equity practice at a time when Louisiana and the Gulf Coast are poised to attract a great deal of investment.”

In addition, Mr. Kaynor represents private equity firms and investment banks in fund formation and related activities.  He has also served as counsel for underwriters, issuers, and selling stockholders in connection with registered and unregistered public offerings of both debt and equity securities.

Prior to practicing law, Mr. Kaynor traded government repurchase agreements and was responsible for other liability management-related activities at one of the world’s leading New York City-based investment banks.

Mr. Kaynor received his J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law in 1987 and his B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Yale University in 1981.
