Whiting Elected President of The Woodlands Bar Association

THE WOODLANDS, Texas—Jones Walker is pleased to announce that special counsel Douglas B. Whiting has been elected President of The Woodlands Bar Association. Mr. Whiting has served on the Board of Directors and as an officer since The Woodlands Bar Association was founded in 2006.

As a member of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group, Mr. Whiting primarily focuses his practice in the areas of construction, energy, international, and project development and finance. Mr. Whiting has negotiated and closed over $14 billion worth of transactions spanning six continents involving electric power, oil & gas services, refinery, and other energy-related facilities, as well as the development of large-scale precious metals mining projects. His focus has been on areas as diverse as acquisitions/divestitures, engineering/procurement/construction, project development, operations and maintenance agreements, real estate development, and master services/supply agreements.

The Woodlands Bar Association is a non-profit organization composed of attorneys who live or work in The Woodlands, Texas, area. The Woodlands is roughly 35 miles north of downtown Houston and is the home for several Fortune 500® companies and a number of large regional companies supporting the energy industry and other industries, including NASA space operations.
