King Represents Banks in Foreclosures; Suits Featured in South Florida Business Journal
Partner Mark R. King was recently featured in three articles in the South Florida Business Journal, each detailing entities facing foreclosure and Mr. King's representation of Colonial Bank and Ocean Bank in these lawsuits.
Mr. King is representing Ocean Bank, the largest independent state-chartered commercial bank headquartered in Florida, in a $14.4-million foreclosure lawsuit against the owner of a Coral Gables office tower. A separate article in the South Florida Business Journal detailed a foreclosure lawsuit filed by Ocean Bank against now-defunct Auto Trend Inc., a used car dealer in Hallandale Beach, Fla. Mr. King also represents Ocean Bank in this lawsuit.
Lastly, the South Florida Business Journal highlighted Mr. King's representation of Montgomery, Ala.-based Colonial Bank in a foreclosure lawsuit against a Las Vegas film studio regarding its ownership of a parking lot in downtown Miami. Colonial Bank filed a foreclosure lawsuit against FTP Investment Corp. and its president, alleging that the company owes the bank $4.5 million, plus interest.
