CIO Ruark Chick Appointed to Louisiana Information Technology Advisory Board

ChickLouisiana Governor Bobby Jindal recently announced the appointment of Jones Walker's Chief Information Officer, Ruark W. Chick, to the Louisiana Information Technology Advisory Board. The organization advises the Chief Information Officer of the State of Louisiana on matters such as spending, streamlining existing technologies, and sharing resources.

According to statute, the board is comprised of five at-large gubernatorial appointments and each statewide elected official, other than the governor, or their designees. Additionally, the board includes the president of the Senate or his or her designee, the speaker of the House of Representatives or his or her designee, the chief justice or his or her designee, one representative from the office of the governor, one representative from postsecondary education selected from recommendations submitted by the Louisiana Postsecondary Education Information Technology Council, and the CEO of each department within the scope of authority of the office of information technology.

Mr. Chick is a member of the International Legal Technology Association and the Louisiana Technology Council. He will serve as an at-large member of the Louisiana Information Technology Advisory Board, as required by statute.
