Christopher P. Couch Joins Jones Walker

CouchBIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Jones Walker is pleased to announce that Christopher P. Couch has joined the firm as a special counsel in the Banking & Financial Services Practice Group. He will practice from the firm's Birmingham office.

Mr. Couch joins Jones Walker after two years as Vice President of Strategy and General Counsel of Birmingham, Ala.-based New Gas Concepts, Inc. In these roles, Mr. Couch directed all aspects of legal policy and project development strategy for the firm, which was involved in alternative energy projects.

From 2005–2007, Mr. Couch was a Banking and Securities attorney with Miller, Hamilton, Snider & Odom, which merged with Jones Walker in September 2008. He has advised banks and other financial institutions on regulatory and operational matters, civil and regulatory actions involving commercial and regulatory claims, and compliance with banking and lending legislation. Mr. Couch also has experience advising privately held businesses on corporate governance and securities issues, including private placement of equity securities, finance, and recapitalization.

Mr. Couch is a 2002 graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law, where he received his juris doctor degree, magna cum laude. During law school, he served as Alabama Editor on the Alabama Law Review from 2001–2002.
