Jones Walker maintains a domestic and international construction law practice, representing virtually every participant in the construction process, including developers, owners, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers. The aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita sparked significant new construction as well as a substantial amount disputes regarding current, damaged, or destroyed construction, including resulting schedule delays and cost overruns. From conception to completion, we provide comprehensive legal services to the construction industry. Our attorneys are highly experienced in the business of construction, including entity selection and formation, licensing, contract negotiation and drafting, claim avoidance, and general business and tax advices. We also handle a wide variety of construction-related disputes, including public bid law challenges, construction defects, delays and disruptions, force majeure claims, equitable adjustment and rescission, termination, and private and public works acts. Our construction attorneys have significant experience in dispute resolution proceedings before federal and state courts, arbitration panels, and mediators.
