Joe Lowenthal is a partner in the firm's Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group. He has extensive experience advising and litigating for a variety of clients in commercial litigation primarily in the fields of healthcare, insurance coverage, contracts, and environmental and toxic torts.

Mr. Lowenthal's representative matters include litigation on behalf of a managed care service organization in multiple federal and state district courts across the United States, with responsibility for managing and coordinating the national defense for the managed service organization.

He also was actively involved in first-party insurance recovery for property damage and business income losses caused by Hurricane Katrina with the value of the claims in excess of half of billion.

  • Michelle Marshall, et al v. AirLiquide, et al: Served as insurance coverage counsel for insurer in environmental class action.
  • Represented a major educational institution in litigation over coverage for its property damage and business interruption losses sustained in Hurricane Katrina.
  • Represented a major educational institution in a first-party property damage and business interruption claim arising out of Hurricane Katrina.
  • Represented the university in errors and omissions claim against insurance broker.
  • Represented the college for recovery of property damages and business income losses arising out of Hurricane Katrina.
  • Represented a drug product manufacturer in a wrongful death action resulting in a defense verdict.
