A partner in the firm's Tax & Estates Practice Group, Sonny Nunes has experience in the federal and state tax aspects of corporate and joint venture transactions. He has represented taxpayers in disputes with the Internal Revenue Service, the Louisiana Department of Revenue, and local tax authorities.

Mr. Nunes works closely with the firm's corporate and general business attorneys in structuring acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, and transactions driven by federal and state income tax credits, including federal and state new market credits, federal and state rehabilitation tax credits, and state motion picture investor tax credits. He also works with attorneys in the firm's public finance practice in structuring tax-exempt municipal financings.

Mr. Nunes is a member of the American Bar Association's Section on Taxation and its S Corporation Committee. He is also a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association's Section on Taxation.
