Bob Rivers is an associate in the Real Estate: Land Use, Development & Finance Practice Group in New Orleans. In this capacity, he is involved in all facets of Jones Walker's real estate practice, including acquisitions, title review, commercial leases, condominium development, servitudes, land use, planning and zoning matters, construction contracting, and environmental compliance.
Prior to practicing law, Mr. Rivers had a 14-year career as an urban planner in Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., most recently as Administrator for the Nantucket (Massachusetts) Historic District Commission. In his capacity as a professional planner, Mr. Rivers specialized in development review, land use planning, historic preservation, and environmental management. He has taught historic preservation law at the College of Urban and Public Affairs at the University of New Orleans. Prior to joining the Real Estate Practice Group, Mr. Rivers was an associate in Jones Walker's general litigation section and practiced in the areas of construction, environmental, and general commercial litigation.
