Gita Timmerman is a member of both the firm's Corporate & Securities Practice Group and its Insurance, Banking & Financial Services Industry Group. Her practice focuses primarily on federal securities laws. In addition, she handles client matters related to insurance company compliance both in the U.S. and abroad, including foreign regulatory issues with respect to variable life and annuity products and offshore funds. She also assists clients in matters relating to the Foreign Assets Control Regulations administered by OFAC, the USA Patriot Act, and CFIUS. In addition, she is involved in the firm's international practice on behalf of clients with a particular emphasis on Europe. Prior to joining the firm in 2004, Ms. Timmerman interned in the legal departments of a multinational corporation in France and an American law firm in Germany.
