Business & Commercial Litigation Practice

Brandon Black is a partner in the firm's Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group. His practice focuses primarily on commercial litigation, bankruptcy, banking, construction, and personal injury.

Mr. Black has handled numerous matters including creditors' rights cases in bankruptcy court, federal district court and state court, consumer lending cases, foreclosures, lender liability, personal injury defense, insurance coverage disputes, construction litigation, state deceptive trade practice laws, mortgage servicing matters, general commercial litigation, state procurement disputes, employment disputes, government contracts, and federal False Claims Act cases.

Prior to joining Jones Walker, Mr. Black was a staff accountant at KPMG from 1991–1993. He also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Frank J. Polozola, United States District Judge for the Middle District of Louisiana, from August 1996–July 1997. Mr. Black was an associate from 1997–2002 and a partner from 2003–2004 at the law firm of Taylor, Porter, Brooks & Phillips, L.L.P. in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he practiced commercial litigation, bankruptcy, banking, corporate, general federal practice, and state procurement.
