Shawn Kiefer is an associate in the firm's Business & Finance Practice Group. He joined the firm in 2007, after practicing for three years in Alexandria, Louisiana. Mr. Kiefer's prior practice experience includes a combination of commercial litigation, bankruptcy, and transactional work, which gives him a unique perspective on business transactions. Mr. Kiefer's practice currently involves a variety of commercial transactions including secured finance, real estate, acquisitions and divestitures of privately held companies and their assets, syndicated financing involving state and federal incentive tax credits, and variety of other contractual relationships.
Mr. Kiefer received his juris doctor degree and his bachelor of civil law degree from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center, Louisiana State University in 2004. While in law school, he was a semi-finalist in the Robert L. Tullis Competition, a member of the Moot Court Board, and co-chair of its Appellate Advocacy Committee. Mr. Kiefer also served as a judicial extern to Judge James J. Brady of the Federal District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana.
