Jamie Ruf Gurt is a member of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group. Prior to joining Jones Walker, Ms. Gurt worked as an associate at Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP in the firm’s Real Estate Department, where her practice was concentrated in the area of commercial real estate finance. Ms. Gurt drafted and negotiated loan documents and conducted due diligence on numerous acquisition, predevelopment, and refinancing transactions, including both mortgage and mezzanine financings.
While attending law school, Ms. Gurt worked as a law clerk for the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC), an administrative agency which implements land use and zoning laws and promotes harmonious growth in the Maryland-Washington Regional District. At M-NCPPC, Ms. Gurt assisted the associate general counsel and legal staff in representation of the Montgomery County Planning Board, including analysis of land use and zoning laws, drafting of legal opinions, and litigation of agency decisions in connection with proposed development.
