Jennifer Hamer is a partner in the firm's the Real Estate Practice Group in The Woodlands office. She is a transactional attorney with a broad business practice in energy, real estate and finance transactions, focusing on the development, operation and finance of energy infrastructure projects, both domestically and internationally. Ms. Hamer joins the firm from Vinson & Elkins, where she was an associate in the Energy Transactions, Real Estate and Structured Finance practices.


Ms. Hamer has advised clients with project development and operation of energy infrastructure projects, including turnkey design/build agreements and EPC contracts related to the construction of power projects, together with the other key components of fuel supply and power sales agreements, master services agreements, major equipment sales and installation agreements and other operations and maintenance (O&M) agreements.

Real Estate

Ms. Hamer has advised clients with commercial real estate projects, including the representation of owners, lenders and developers in the acquisition, divestiture and leasing of raw land, industrial centers, commercial developments, office space, shopping centers, power plants and chemical and refining projects.


Ms. Hamer has represented both borrowers and lenders in numerous aspects of the financing of real estate projects, including the project financing of infrastructure development projects, and additionally has been involved in a variety of finance work including issues involving private equity, revolving credit facilities, project finance, synthetic lease programs, the syndication and financing of software license receivables and public finance projects.

She received her juris doctor degree, cum laude, from the South Texas College of Law, where she was a member of Phi Delta Phi and Order of the Lytae. Ms. Hamer is a member of the Houston Bar Association and the Houston Young Lawyers Association, and in 2007 was named in Texas Monthly a "Texas Rising Star" in business/corporate law.
