Ben Harris is a member of the firm’s Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group. He practices complex civil litigation, securities litigation, and litigation involving financial institutions. Mr. Harris represents financial institutions in lender liability actions, suits to enforce creditors’ rights, and in suits relating to operational matters. Mr. Harris also represents troubled financial institutions and their officers and directors across the country. Most recently, he has obtained successful jury verdicts in complex, multi-million dollar cases in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Mr. Harris has also served as counsel to publicly-traded bank holding companies in shareholder derivative and class action litigation, and has served as counsel to special committees of the boards of directors of these institutions in such matters. He is admitted to practice in Alabama, Florida, Texas, and the District of Columbia, as well as in federal courts in a number of jurisdictions.
Mr. Harris has also assisted financial institutions and other clients in resolving issues in Central and Latin America, and has assisted companies and educational institutions interested in developing trade in Cuba. He has traveled to Cuba on several occasions for that purpose.
Mr. Harris is a member of the Board of Directors of the Sociedad Mobile-La Habana and is a member of Mobile United and Leadership Mobile.
