Chad Grand is an associate in the Intellectual Property practice area within the Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group. He is a Registered Patent Attorney and practices from the firm's Baton Rouge office.

Mr. Grand represents clients in all aspects of intellectual property law, and his experience includes patent drafting and prosecution involving complex oil field equipment and technology, methods of doing business, industrial waste handling and disposal devices, compositions and methods with medical and pharmaceutical applications, optical sensing devices, and other technologies; patent validity and infringement opinions; trademark and copyright prosecution and protection; transfer and licensing of intellectual property; and the preparation and enforcement of employment agreements, confidentiality agreements, and noncompete agreements. He also has experience in litigation involving claims of patent infringement, misappropriation of trade secrets, unfair competition, and other intellectual property issues.

Mr. Grand has facilitated the acquisition and enforcement of intellectual property assets in more than 50 countries, including multiple jurisdictions in both North and South America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia.

Mr. Grand received his juris doctor degree and Bachelor of Civil Law from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center, Louisiana State University, in 2005. He graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology in 2000, where he was named to the Dean's List and was a member of Beta Beta Beta and the National Honor Society. Prior to joining Jones Walker, he was an associate with Durio, McGoffin, Stagg & Ackermann in Lafayette, Louisiana. He also served as Judicial law clerk to Judge Brenda Bedsole Ricks in the 21st Judicial District Court.
