Michael Lemoine has practiced primarily in the areas of maritime, oilfield, insurance, and product liability litigation since 1982. He has extensive practice and trial experience in state and federal courts in Louisiana and Texas. Mr. Lemoine routinely represents clients in multi-party complex litigation involving personal injury and property damage related to oil and gas production and exploration activity on land, sea, and structures on the outer continental shelf, explosions, allisions, contractual and insurance disputes, construction defects, products liability, and general commercial liability matters. Mr. Lemoine has considerable experience with state and federal appellate litigation. His successful cases are reported extensively in Lexis and Westlaw.

Mr. Lemoine served as Lead Trial Lawyer for Weatherford International, Inc. in connection with all civil litigation and investigations concerning BP's Macondo well blowout and explosion in the Gulf of Mexico, the largest oil spill in American history, including the Multidistrict Litigation before the United States District Court, Eastern District, New Orleans, La., "In Re: Oil Spill by the Oil Rig Deepwater Horizon in the Gulf of Mexico, on April 20, 2010, MDL No. 2179" (the "MDL"). Mr. Lemoine led a team of over 30 attorneys and support staff involved in defending Weatherford in this massively complex litigation. Weatherford was completely exonerated by the MDL Court in January 2012 pursuant to a Motion for Summary Judgment filed by the Jones Walker litigation team at the conclusion of discovery.

In the mid-1990s, Mr. Lemoine served as state wide coverage counsel in Louisiana for The Aetna Casualty and Surety Company, where he provided commercial liability policy coverage opinions. Mr. Lemoine also has extensive experience and success in subrogation litigation on behalf of insurance companies, as well as bad faith litigation. Mr. Lemoine conducts client seminars in areas of his experience as well as lectures at continuing education seminars.

Michael Lemoine was an honors graduate from Louisiana State University in 1977 where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. He received a juris doctor degree from Paul M. Hebert Law Center, Louisiana State University in 1981. Reflecting the standard of long- term excellence established in his legal practice, Mr. Lemoine has been selected for inclusion in Louisiana Super Lawyers in the area of Transportation/Maritime annually since 2008 and has received an AV® Peer Review Rating in Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating available. In 2014 Mr. Lemoine was named to the  BTI Client Service All-Stars, a group of 330 individual attorneys nationwide identified solely through client feedback who stand out with in-house counsel of large companies as delivering the highest levels of client service.
