Environmental & Toxic Torts Practice

Nadia de la Houssaye's practice focuses on complex matters relating to class action toxic tort litigation, environmental cleanup, insurance coverage litigation, appellate advocacy, and medical malpractice defense. Ms. de la Houssaye has provided environmental advice and counsel to petroleum and industrial companies in Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) cost recovery and in private toxic tort claims involving Superfund sites in Louisiana and California. Ms. de la Houssaye also represents the Louisiana Patient's Compensation Fund in the defense of medical malpractice claims, as well as the defense of the constitutionality of the Medical Malpractice Cap.

Ms. de la Houssaye is licensed to practice in Louisiana and Texas, and has extensive experience in both state and federal courts. She served as a law clerk for Judge Miriam Waltzer in the Louisiana Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans and was a professor of communications law at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
