Blair Suire is a partner practicing Intellectual Property law within the firm's Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group. She is a Registered Patent Attorney.

Ms. Suire's patent practice includes preparation and prosecution of U.S. patent applications in a variety of fields, including:

  • oilfield service products, including separation technology, down hole tools, pressure rating systems, heat exchange systems, transportation systems, and coiled tubing products;
  • chemical products, including geopolymer compositions;
  • pharmaceutical products and medical devices;
  • electrical systems and software systems;
  • consumer products, including archery equipment, sports equipment, and security systems.

Ms. Suire also prepares and prosecutes International (PCT) patent applications, and frequently works with clients on patent applications in other countries, including Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, China, Japan, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates, in addition to the European Patent Office. Her patent work also includes providing opinions regarding infringement and validity of patents.

Ms. Suire's trademark practice includes preparation and prosecution of federal trademark applications in the United States, as well as trademark applications in other countries. She assists clients in policing unauthorized uses of their trademarks. Ms. Suire assists clients in obtaining copyright registrations. She also performs intellectual property due diligence work.

Ms. Suire's litigation work includes patent infringement, trademark infringement, trade secret misappropriation, and unfair competition. She has extensive experience in the area of electronic discovery.

Ms. Suire joined Jones Walker in 2009 after graduating from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center, Louisiana State University, where she received her juris doctor degree and Diploma in Civil Law, cum laude. At LSU, Ms. Suire received the CALI award in legal writing and mineral rights. Ms. Suire is a 2006 graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, summa cum laude. She was a member of Tau Beta Pi and Omega Chi Epsilon honor societies.
