Alan Warfield is a partner in the firm's Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group and is office head for the firm's Birmingham office. His practices focuses primarily on the areas of consumer and commercial litigation.

Mr. Warfield represents banks and mortgage lenders in the defense of individual and class consumer lending suits, including common law fraud and negligence actions; statutory actions under the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), the Home Owners Equity Protection Act (HOEPA), the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO); bankruptcy adversary proceedings; and foreclosure disputes. He also litigates title disputes, title insurance claims, tax redemptions, and other real estate matters for the firm's lending and other clients.

Mr. Warfield's commercial litigation experience includes the defense and prosecution of contract, fraud, defamation, and interference actions on behalf of a diverse range of business clients, including banks, mortgage lenders, construction contractors and owners, insurance professionals, governmental entities, and individuals. He has handled complex shareholder derivative and squeeze-out/oppression actions on behalf of both corporations and shareholders. Mr. Warfield also has significant litigation experience in the areas of insurance coverage, professional liability, governmental and state-agent immunity and liability, and products liability law.

Before attending Harvard Law School, Alan received his Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Auburn University, where he received the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Humanitarian Service Award and the Birdsong Scholarship for International Study.
