Michael Drew is a partner in the firm's Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group and practices from the firm's New Orleans office. His practice focuses on health and disability insurance, commercial general liability insurance, government contracts, construction, and commercial disputes. 

Mr. Drew has extensive experience litigating disputes arising out of and relating to health and disability insurance, including benefit disputes, provider payment disputes, and matters under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

In addition, Mr. Drew has particular experience in government contract advice and litigation, including the Louisiana public bid and procurement laws.

In 2010, Mr. Drew served as interim litigation counsel for a Fortune 150 corporation. He also acts as Louisiana counsel for multiple Fortune 500 companies in the construction and maintenance of their retail operations in the state.

Prior to joining Jones Walker, Mr. Drew practiced for more than four years at the Washington, D.C., law firm of Steptoe & Johnson LLP, where he focused on insurance and government contract litigation.

  • Represent a group of 16 different health insurance companies in federal lawsuit brought by out-of-network providers for additional reimbursement.
  • Represent a health insurance company in class-action antitrust litigation.
  • Represent healthcare screening and credentialing company in connection with a public contract.
