Michael Drew is a partner in the firm's Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group and practices from the firm's New Orleans office. His practice focuses on commercial general liability, property and health insurance, construction law, government contracts, and commercial disputes. 

Notably, Mr. Drew maintains a diverse construction practice representing both owners and contractors in construction disputes before federal and state courts and administrative agencies. He has particular experience in government contract advice and litigation, including the Louisiana public bid and procurement laws.

In 2010, Mr. Drew served as interim litigation counsel for a Fortune 150 corporation. He also acts as Louisiana counsel for multiple Fortune 500 companies in the construction and maintenance of their retail operations in the state.

Prior to joining Jones Walker, Mr. Drew practiced for more than four years at the Washington, D.C., law firm of Steptoe & Johnson LLP, where he focused on insurance and government contract litigation.

  • Advised and litigated on behalf of major contractors involved with a $9 billion disaster recovery program overseen by the Louisiana Office of Community Development.
  • Advised and litigated a $1.3 billion coastal restoration master plan overseen by the Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority.
  • Advised and litigated a $100 million barrier island construction project.
