Janice Foster has practiced law for more than 30 years and focuses predominantly on estate planning and estate administration. She advises clients on the preparation of wills, marital trusts, exemption trusts, life insurance trusts, powers of attorney, and charitable gifts. In estate administration, Ms. Foster is experienced in valuing assets, preparing and handling the audits of estate tax returns, and negotiating settlements. She also assists clients with tutorships and interdictions.
In 2007, New Orleans CityBusiness honored Ms. Foster as a member of its third annual class of 50 Leadership in Law honorees. The honor was bestowed in recognition of success in legal practice, contributions to the community, and impact on New Orleans' legal industry. She was also recognized in 2007 as a Young Leadership Council Role Model, a designation conferred on individuals in the New Orleans community who promote a positive attitude, display vigorous community leadership, and excel in their respective professional fields.
In her community, Ms. Foster serves on the Board of Trustees and was the former Chairman of Baptist Community Ministries. She has also previously served on the Board of Trustees of the Greater New Orleans Foundation, the Board of Supervisors of Louisiana State University, the Board of Trustees of the School Leadership Council, and the Board of Trustees of Xavier University.
