Katie Cordes Darden is an associate in the firm's Admiralty & Maritime Practice Group and practices from the New Orleans office. 

Ms. Darden has extensive experience in collision, allision, insurance, maritime liens, indemnity, cargo, death, personal injury, property damage, right-of-way disputes, explosions, and multi-party complex and commercial litigation in state and federal courts. Ms. Darden also advises clients regarding coastwise trade regulations, security, citizenship, manning, and vessel documentation issues, and general vessel and operational compliance advice.

Ms. Darden also assisted the appointed Special Master for the In re: Actos (Pioglitazone) Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 2299, a nationwide pharmaceutical MDL, which resulted in a 2.4 billion dollar settlement involving over 10,000 claims. Ms. Darden assisted in various aspects of the MDL including privilege disputes, electronically stored information (ESI), award appeals, and fee disputes, among others.

Ms. Darden is a 2013 graduate of Tulane University Law School where she earned her juris doctor degree, magna cum laude, and served as Editor in Chief of the Tulane Environmental Law Journal. She received her Bachelor of Arts in History at the University of Virginia. Prior to joining Jones Walker, she interned for the Honorable Jay C. Zainey of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
