A partner in the firm's Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group since 1981, John Gomila has more than 30 years of experience litigating products liability, premises liability, toxic tort, insurance, contractual indemnity, and class action matters in state and federal courts. A substantial part of his experience has been in the energy industry, defending a petroleum refining and marketing company in both traditional and class action matters arising out of the operation of its refinery in the New Orleans area.

Mr. Gomila has successfully defended a national food products company against product liability and adulteration claims, and has also extensively litigated matters involving cause and origin of refinery and building fires, chemical and other products liability, and construction of indemnity agreements and insurance policies.

Mr. Gomila has lectured on a variety of topics relating to his areas of practice. He was a member of the Louisiana Supreme Court's Committee on Bar Admissions for 10 years, serving 5 years as Examiner and 5 years as Chairman.
