Pamela A. Baxter is special counsel in the firm's Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group and a member of the Intellectual Property Practice Team.

Ms. Baxter represents clients in a wide range of patent and trademark prosecution matters before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. She assists clients in drafting, filing, and prosecuting chemical, biochemical, and mechanical patent applications. Ms. Baxter is involved in the prosecution of trademarks and the prosecution and defense of trademark application opposition proceedings. She also has experience in drafting nondisclosure agreements and assignments for patents, copyrights, and trademarks, as well as negotiating intellectual property licensing agreements.

She has represented a University before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and a Fortune 1000 industrial client in negotiation of software licenses and software development agreements with a major software provider. Ms. Baxter has represented clients in the development and negotiation of agreements for software and mobile phone applications, including end user license agreements and software licensing agreements, website terms of use, and privacy policies.

Ms. Baxter joined Jones Walker in 2016 after eight years of practicing law in Baton Rouge. She is a Registered Patent Attorney and a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association. She was also listed as a 2016 Rising Star by Super Lawyers® in the area of Intellectual Property.

She graduated from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center, Louisiana State University, where she received her juris doctor degree and Bachelor in Civil Law, and was a member of the Order of the Coif. At LSU, Ms. Baxter received the CALI awards for administration of criminal justice, advanced trademark and competition law, antitrust law, conflicts law, corporate taxation, international intellectual property, Louisiana Civil Procedure, and patent law.
