Christoffer Friend is a partner in the firm's Business and Commercial Litigation Practice Group and practices in the firm's New Orleans office. He represents oil and gas and chemical companies in all aspects of regulation and litigation, including property damage and toxic tort bodily injury, as well as regulatory matters before the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ), the Office of Conservation, and the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources (LDNR). Mr. Friend is familiar with the rules and regulations governing E&P activity in the state, including R 29-B and its related regulations.

Mr. Friend has litigated cases throughout Louisiana brought under Act 312, which governs all remediation actions involving legacy E&P activity in the state. He has litigated numerous toxic tort cases, ranging from mass tort chemical exposure cases to pipe yard NORM exposure cases. Mr. Friend has also handled construction disputes for owners, contractors, and design professionals throughout his career. He is currently representing defendants in connection with multiple claims in litigation and arbitration arising from a sinkhole in Assumption Parish, Louisiana.
