Carl Hanemann has been a partner with Jones Walker since 1973. He is a member of the firm’s Corporate & Securities Practice Group, and he focuses his practice on federal and state securities laws, corporation finance, organization of businesses, business acquisitions and dispositions, and shareholder and partner relationships. Mr. Hanemann was the principal draftsman of the 1985 recodification of Louisiana Securities Law.
Mr. Hanemann’s representation of banking organizations includes the formation of several bank holding companies, the representation of publicly traded Louisiana state banks and the representation of a bank holding company in the formation of a “bad bank,” which was abandoned before completion.
Mr. Hanemann attended Harvard Law School, where he received his bachelor of laws degree in 1968. He received his bachelor of arts degree from Tulane University in 1965, and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Mr. Hanemann also attended University College in London.
Mr. Hanemann is a member of the Louisiana and American Bar Associations, and he has been editor of Recent Developments in Corporate and Business Law, Louisiana State Bar Association Recent Developments Manual, from 1984 until 2003.
