Neil Heusel is a partner in the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice Group, and since 1979 has primarily represented management in the field of labor relations. 

After graduation from law school in 1967, Neil Heusel served for three years as a special agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Following his career with the FBI, he served as an assistant district attorney for Orleans Parish and was the executive assistant district attorney in charge of capital cases. In 1972, he joined the United States Attorney’s Office in New Orleans, where he served as chief of the Criminal Division and first assistant United States attorney. In 1976, he received the United States Attorney General's Exceptional Service Award. Beginning in 1977, he headed the Department of Justice Organized Crime and Racketeering Strike Force with jurisdiction over the states of Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Alabama. He also served as an assistant special prosecutor appointed by the federal courts to look into allegations of corruption involving members of the White House staff.

Mr. Heusel has been a guest lecturer at the United States Department of Justice Trial Advocacy Institute on Trial Tactics, and he was also a member of the Tulane University Law School Panel of Instructors on Trial Advocacy.

Since 1979, Mr. Heusel has represented management in a broad range of labor and employment litigation matters, before federal and state courts and agencies throughout the United States.
