Ryan Johnson is partner in the firm’s Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group. Prior to joining Jones Walker, he clerked for Judge Frank J. Polozola, the Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana.

He has represented clients in a wide range of litigation matters in state and federal court, including a wide variety of commercial disputes. Mr. Johnson also litigates matters before Louisiana administrative agencies and boards and before arbitration tribunals.

Mr. Johnson's experience includes representing clients in state law “blue sky” securities claims as well as representing securities brokers and brokerage houses in claims for unfair trade practices and breach of contract. He represented a third-party health care administrator in a putative class action which includes as many as 250,000 class members. His construction industry experience includes representing general contractors in various disputes with sub-contractors as well as representing sub-contractors in asserting public and private works act liens. He has also represented a construction program manager in a large scale public works dispute. In addition, he has represented clients in real properties disputes between multiple co-owners. He has represented manufacturers in product liability claims related to pipeline monitoring equipment. He has also litigated various aspects of estate and probate proceedings.

  • Represented large investment bank in state “blue sky” claims in suit involving over 60 plaintiffs and 15 different defendants.

  • Defended departing broker and brokerage house in unfair trade practice, tort, and employment agreement claims seeking injunctive and other relief.

  • Represented property owners in dispute regarding ownership of property and accounting for revenues derived from jointly-owned property.
