A partner in the firm's Tax & Estates Practice Group, Jonathan Katz received his Master of Laws in Taxation from New York University School of Law in May 2006. He received his juris doctor degree from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in May 2005.
Mr. Katz' practice focuses predominately on federal taxation, with a focus in New Market Tax Credit transactions, federal alcohol excise tax credit compliance, business organizations, mergers and acquisitions, and estate planning and administration. Although his practice is primarily transactional, Mr. Katz is also involved in state and local tax controversies. He advises clients in the energy, health care, and real estate industries, and his clients include hospitals, medical service providers, and closely-held companies.
Mr. Katz represents the Young Lawyers division of the Louisiana State Bar Association as a voting member of the Louisiana Supreme Court Judicial Council. He is also a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association's Section on Taxation and a member of the American Bar Association's Section on Taxation.
