Patrick Baynham is a partner in the Maritime Practice Group. He defends maritime industry clients in a broad range of personal injury and related litigation.
Patrick represents maritime services, offshore drilling, energy, manufacturing, chemicals, and other industry clients in maritime, general casualty, insurance coverage, and other disputes. He focuses on the defense of clients named in personal injury and death lawsuits and has handled numerous civil jury trials in federal and state courts across Louisiana and Texas. He understands the changing priorities and strategies these clients face and draws on this knowledge to execute creative litigation strategies that align with and achieve their business goals.
Patrick has been a practicing attorney since 1985. In addition to his personal injury work, he has represented clients in individual and multi-plaintiff litigation involving naturally occurring radioactive material (NORM) as well as precedent-setting matters involving video surveillance, social media, and other emerging issues. He works closely with expert witnesses and regularly conducts depositions and cross-examinations of plaintiffs' subject-matter witnesses.
Committed to helping find solutions to homelessness, for 10 years Patrick volunteered and served as a board member of a New Orleans-based homeless shelter and has provided pro bono legal counsel for more than two decades to housing-related charities and the individuals they serve.
