Jones Walker LLP announced today that John C. Morris IV has joined the firm as special counsel in the Corporate Practice Group in the Baton Rouge office.
John is an experienced corporate attorney primarily focusing on public finance and related matters. He regularly assists in public finance transactions and serves as bond counsel to local government entities. John also often serves as counsel to underwriters, issuers, and trustee counsel in various public finance transactions.

Before joining the firm, John held the position of Deputy Director of the Civil Division within the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office. In his position representing the State of Louisiana, he served as legal counsel to the Louisiana State Bond Commission, the Tobacco Settlement Financing Corporation, and the Office Facilities Corporation. He has also provided legal counsel and guidance to state and local boards and officials on a variety of public finance topics.
John received his BAcy from the University of Mississippi and his JD and BCL from the Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center. He is admitted to practice in Louisiana and Mississippi.
