Vernon Wells, II, is a partner in the Litigation Practice Group.
With a remarkably varied litigation practice, Vernon has represented hundreds of plaintiffs and defendants in many areas of law and fields of business. Vernon also counsels clients on litigation avoidance and contract negotiation.
Vernon handles cases involving corporate litigation; representing plaintiffs and defendants in derivative and shareholder litigation; closely held business and family owned business management disputes; commercial, contract, and general business disputes; construction disputes; employment litigation; computer and software disputes; insurance litigation, including direct representation of insurers in bad faith, fraud, declaratory judgment, and other litigation, and representation of insureds at the request of insurance companies; defense of professionals; legal and accounting malpractice; products liability; personal injury and wrongful death litigation for plaintiffs and defendants; land use litigation; and trucking industry litigation.
Vernon has tried cases in the state and federal courts of Alabama and adjacent states, and is also experienced in mediation and arbitration. He has also defended a number of class action cases. Vernon believes in approaching every case with enthusiasm, creativity, and innovation, applying fresh approaches to recurring problems.
Before entering private practice in 1975, Vernon was a captain, judge advocate, in the US Air Force.
