Bill Wynne is a partner in the Maritime Practice Group. He focuses his practice on commercial litigation, maritime litigation, and both maritime and shore-side insurance coverage issues.
Bill began his career at Jones Walker in 2004, after serving as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Helen "Ginger" Berrigan, Federal District Judge for the Eastern District of Louisiana. He has extensive experience litigating all manners of insurance coverage and maritime matters in state and federal courts in Louisiana, Texas, and Alabama.
Bill has litigated insurance coverage issues involving construction defects (onshore and offshore), asbestos and silica exposures, oilfield legacy matters, pollution cases, landfill matters, governmental expropriations/appropriations, dust migration, and intellectual property issues. In the maritime realm, he has litigated commercial and contractual disputes, collisions, allisions, cargo damage cases, limitation of liability proceedings, vessel seizures, state and Outer Continental Shelf platform cases, indemnity disputes, and personal injuries to Jones Act seamen, longshoremen, and non-seafarers. His practice also involves general commercial litigation, including contractual breaches, partnership duties and dissolutions, and movable and immovable property partitions.
Bill has represented a variety of policyholders and insurance companies in insurance coverage and bad faith litigation. His practice also extends to appellate practice, class actions, toxic torts, and products liability.
