Jeff Gray has practiced law for more than 20 years and is a partner in the firm's Real Estate Practice Group, residing in the Baton Rouge office. He concentrates in the areas of commercial and industrial real estate development, land use and zoning as well as investment and financing transactions. Mr. Gray has a broad business background with a focus in real estate and financing transactions, and has advised numerous clients in connection with the purchase, sale, and leasing of a wide assortment of commercial and industrial properties.
He is experienced in the representation of national and international corporations in the acquisition, leasing, and financing of multiple sites throughout Louisiana and the United States. Representative transactions include (i) the representation of a Louisiana developer in the refinancing of 45 shopping centers in five different states, (ii) the acquisition and financing of over 30 restaurants in four different states for a California corporation, (iii) the representation of a major national bank in the sale and leaseback of all of its office buildings in most of the major cities in Louisiana and (iv) the acquisition and financing of over 25 sites in Louisiana for a developer based in the northeast.
Mr. Gray has prior experience as a tax specialist in the tax section of KPMG Peat Marwick, where he provided tax advice to a number of large estates and corporations. He is a respected title insurance agent in Louisiana, having written hundreds of millions of dollars of title insurance since 1988. He is vice president of the firm’s title company, Baronne Title Co., Inc, and is an authorized agent for First American Title Insurance Company, Fidelity National Title Insurance Company of New York, Stewart Title Guaranty Company, Stewart Title Latin America, and Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company.
Mr. Gray has lectured in both Texas and Louisiana on the subjects of complex real estate transactions, title examination, secured transactions, and tax matters.
