Hughes Grehan is a partner in Jones Walker's Business & Commercial Transactions Practice Group, and practices from the firm's Phoenix office. His primary areas of practice include commercial and corporate finance transactions and representing both public and private companies in numerous types of commercial matters and contracts. Mr. Grehan has extensive experience representing borrowers and lenders in structuring, negotiating, and documenting syndicated and non-syndicated credit facilities involving both public and private companies. His transactional finance practice includes a particular emphasis on maritime-related financings, including domestic and international vessel construction financings. He has also handled numerous United States government-guaranteed ship and shipyard financings.
Recently, Mr. Grehan worked extensively on the relocation of the corporate headquarters and a major operational facility for one of the firm's largest public company clients. His work for this client involved structuring, negotiating, and documenting numerous contractual relationships, working with state and local government authorities in connection with economic development incentives for the company, and handling associated financings.
Mr. Grehan drafts and negotiates domestic and international strategic alliance agreements, joint ventures, and other types of sophisticated commercial contracts. Such contracts include, without limitation, engineering contracts, professional consulting contracts, procurement contracts, construction and demolition contracts, and commercial real estate leases. Mr. Grehan has been involved with privatization projects in Indonesia and works extensively with one of the firm's largest clients in drafting and negotiating a wide range of domestic and international procurement and services contracts.
