Mark Adams has successfully defended employers for more than 20 years before federal and state courts, agencies, and arbitrators.  He also counsels employers on the development of effective human resource policies, procedures and training programs; practical and preventive strategies for dealing with human resource issues such as screening and hiring, workplace investigations, discipline and termination, labor organizing, and collective bargaining; and creative solutions for labor and employment issues relating to mergers and acquisitions and business reorganizations.

Mr. Adams founded Jones Walker's Labor Relations & Employment Practice Group and served as its chair for more than 20 years.  He also served as a member of Jones Walker's executive committee from 2001–2006.

Since 1992, Mr. Adams has been the editor of the Louisiana Employment Law Letter, a monthly publication for human resource professionals.  He also serves as the Louisiana representative to the Employers Counsel Network, a coalition of leading labor and employment law firms in each of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, and Canada.  Mr. Adams is a frequent speaker at professional meetings and seminars and has authored numerous papers and articles for professional and trade journals.

Mr. Adams is a native of Mississippi. He graduated with honors from Mississippi State University in 1976 and received his juris doctor degree in 1981 from The University of Mississippi School of Law, where he was a member of the Board of Editors of the Mississippi Law Journal.  He is admitted to practice in both Louisiana and Mississippi, and he is a member of the American Bar Association's Sections on Labor & Employment Law and Litigation.
